What does a genealogist do?

We uncover your family's story, one individual, one branch, and one tree at a time. We approach each research puzzle with the eyes of a private investigator. At an hourly rate, we will trace your tree as far into the past as you wish, or we are able, and present you with a copy of our findings.
Or, if you would prefer, a time frame may be specified. If you're only interested in, say, your family during the American Civil War, we will focus our research on that time period.
If you've hit a stumbling block in your family ancestry or history, hire us! We'll either find it or try to direct you to someone who can. If we can't find a thread to follow within the first hour of research, we will contact you and you will not be charged.

First things first! Before any work begins, you will need to determine your research goal. The more specific you can be in stating your goals, the more efficient we can be with your time. Some examples of a research goal are:
"I want to know my great-grandparents' names, and where they came from."
"I want a pedigree of my father's side of the family, going back five generations."
"I'd like to know where my family is originally from and when we came to this country."

After we have determined the research goal, we'll give you an estimate of the amount of time we believe it may take. If you would like to have a free estimate of the cost, please fill out the contact form below!
Please note that every project is unique, which makes it difficult to predict the amount of time it will take to solve a research problem or locate specific records. Some research goals are met quickly, whereas others take a bit more time. If we hit a stumbling block in our research that makes it difficult to accomplish our goal within the set time, we will contact you. You will never be charged for hours you have not authorized.
